Machado de Assis in English: The beauty romance of Capitu and Bentinho

Everyone likes a drama sometimes. In Brazil, the most famous novel is certainly Dom Casmurro by Machado de Assis. The book, written in the 19th century, is still required reading in Brazilian schools.
Filled with an intense romance, the main theme of the work is love, and especially the jealousy that permeated the relationship of Bento Santiago (Bentinho) and Capitolina (Capitu). The two were neighbors and grew together. Probably, they were enamored with each other since they met, ever perhaps. But between the two, is the mother's desire to make it Bentinho Catholic priest. The problem is that priests do not marry, so their love is forbidden.
To celebrate 100 years since the death of Machado de Assis, TV Globo launched in December 2008, a miniseries in five chapters, a television adaptation of "Don Casmurro", masterpiece of the author. And the miniseries has also become a masterpiece, and tells the story quite closely.
Gradually, I'm sharing, captioning, and posting the episodes on Youtube. At this time, I am providing subtitles in Portuguese and English.
In Episode 1, Part 1, you follow the start of this exciting passion. Ah, that unforgettable evening of November that changed the history of man!

Good series!
